As a LPN w/ Coding Experience you will:

  • Prepares and analyzes appropriate Performance Improvement data including QI software for coding, clinical quality and reimbursement.
  • Maintains a utilization review plan that provides maximum benefit to the patient within acceptable third party payor requirements including review of HHRGs and frequency and duration of services.
  • Maintains the confidentiality of all Performance Improvement activities.
  • Prepares statistics timely for appropriate committees including but not limited to: Utilization, Risk, Safety, Infection Control and Performance Improvement.
  • Assists in the evaluation of performance improvement activities to include adverse events, and plan of action for OBQI measures reported on Home Health Compare.
  • Assists in the orientation, training, and on-going education of staff in the Performance Improvement process, OASIS documentation and related home care activities.
  • Serves as a liaison and Performance Improvement resource person to Agency staff and Committees as assigned.
  • Has working knowledge of ICD-9 (preferably ICD-10)
  • Has working knowledge of Title 22, Medicare COPs’ and JCAHO.
  • Acknowledges patient rights including privacy and confidentiality.
  • Consistently displays a professional appearance and conduct in all settings. Customer services including interpersonal and interagency relationships are to be positive and professional at all times.

  • Graduate of accredited nursing program. Current, active license as an LPN.
  • At least one year performance improvement experience in home health, hospital or medical group.
  • Has working knowledge of ICD-9 (preferably ICD-10)
  • Certification as a Professional in Healthcare Quality (CPHQ) preferred.

Must have visual and hearing acuity. Must be able to communicate clearly verbally. Must be able to read, write and speak English fluently. May be exposed to minor hazards/communicable diseases. Physically active walking, standing, bending, lifting, and climbing stairs. Must be able to perform fully assisted transfers, with or without transfer devices (if required for the position). Must not have any back lifting/moving restrictions. Must provide proof of automobile insurance upon hire and at each renewal and maintain a safe driving record.
