Assisted Hospice Care is proud to announce our new partnership with the We Honor Veterans Program. As a We Honor Veterans partner, Assisted Hospice Care will implement Veteran- centered education to staff and volunteers, to enhance the care provided to our Veterans.
Over 25 % of those who die every year in the United States are Veterans, and the numbers are rising. Assisted Hospice Care recognizes the importance of providing appropriate care and support to our Veterans. Acknowledging and relating to the Veteran’s military service, combat experience, or other events is significant in meeting the Veteran’s goals of care. By partnering with the We Honor Veterans Program, Assisted Hospice Care is committed to uniting our strengths to provide the best possible care for our Veterans.
Not all hospices who serve our Veterans are aware of their service in the armed forces. Donald Schumacher, National Palliative Care President and CEO states, “Through the We Honor Veterans Program, we are taking a giant step forward in helping Hospice and Palliative care providers understand and serve the Veterans at the end of life, and work more effectively with the VA medical facilities, and their communities.” Assisted Hospice Care is grateful to be a part of such an important program, and will honor our Veterans with the dignity and respect they deserve.
